The failed single ply roof could not be stripped due to the risk of further water ingress and disturbance to the occupants. A liquid coating system was ideal for minimum disturbance and for weathering the upstands beneath the adjacent glazing. The existing roof surface was cleaned and prepared ready to receive the new SIKA Liquid Plastics Decothane ULTRA roof system. Adhesion tests were successfully carried out before the primer, embedment coat, premium reinforcement layer, and top coat, were applied. An additional coat of Decothane with skid inhibitor finish was applied to form walkways.

Regular quality inspections were carried out by SIKA and a 20-year guarantee was issued on completion.
