As the Principal Contractor provide scaffolding, protection, and site accommodation for the works. Strip and prepare areas, install a Garland tapered insulated built up felt roof system, renew rooflights and trim internal openings, renew existing shiplap cladding areas with a new Garland aluminium cladding system, renew fascias and RW goods with new UPVC components.
The works involved a partial strip of the existing waterproofing and all the detailing, and the preparation of the areas to receive the new system. The existing rooflights were removed and the rooflight voids protected with 18 mm timber. A specialist contractor was engaged to remove the air conditioning units and reinstall upon completion of the works.
The waterproofing, a Garland 30 year insurance backed guarantee system covering materials and workmanship, consisted of a tapered insulation with built up felt Torch Flex (for the main flat areas) and a StressPly self adhesive (for the detailing).
Rooflights were renewed with R4 Em Domes and the internal openings trimmed. New fascia, RW goods and UPVC components were installed, and the existing shiplap cladding areas were renewed with a Garland aluminium cladding system.
